
MEET THE SHERIFF

Sheriff Levorchick has proudly served as the Ottawa County Sheriff since September of 2011. During his tenure as Sheriff, Levorchick has cut over $75,000 for the annual budget and brought in more than $100,000 to the county’s general fund through initiatives and programs benefitting the county.
Sheriff Levorchick began his career in Law Enforcement in 1984 as an Auxillary Police Officer with the Pemberville Police Department. That same year, Sheriff Levorchick successfully completed the Ohio Peace Officer’s Training Academy at Owens Technical College.
Sheriff Levorchick began serving the people of Ottawa County in the summer of 1985 when he was hired as a Patrolman with the Catawba Island Township Police Department, and he first joined the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office as a Patrol Deputy in 1987. Throughout his time with the Sheriff’s Office, Levorchick was promoted to Patrol Sergeant, Detective, and Captain of Operations.
Sheriff Levorchick has received multiple awards and commendations for his work with the public. He was awarded Deputy of the Year in 1999 and has received eight letters of commendation and merit awards for his service in the Patrol Division, Detective Bureau, Special Response Team, and Underwater Rescue/Recovery Team. In 2009, the Sheriff received the Lifesaving Award for performing the Heimlich maneuver on a choking man in a restaurant.
Sheriff Levorchick resides on Catawaba Island with his wife Lori and their son, Noah. Sheriff and Lori also have an adult son, Collin, who resides in Bay Township with his wife Meghan and Walker, the Sheriff’s grandson. Sheriff and Lori’s youngest son Noah is a student at Bowling Green State University, where he is also the National Collegiate Bodybuilding Champion.
In his spare time, Sheriff enjoys spending time with his family and leading an active and healthy lifestyle through weight training, golfing, fishing, and hunting.
